It's soooooooo HOT!

Hi everyone!  I am not sure how many of you are in Texas and how many of you are in much cooler weather...but it has been HOT here.  Yesterday it seems that my AC ran all day and still the house got hotter, and not cooler......around 8-9 pm, it finally started to cool off.

Well, I will jump right into the knitting.  I showed you Antonio's Sock Monkey Bed Socks last week....well, here is a picture of him wearing them....I think they are a bit too small.  I may take out the toes, and knit them a little longer....or just make him a new pair.

Then, I finished Rosen Bridge.....Yahoo!  Camp Loopy #2 done!

Here it is before blocking, during blocking and after blocking....I really like it!

The only other thing I knit on was maybe 2 or 3 rounds on Sandbank (I do not have a picture) and some socks I need to finish by Friday.  These are for the Sock Beginner KAL with HiyaHiya.....I am enjoying them, but I am itching to cast on some socks with Self Striping yarn.

Speaking of self striping....or gradient...a friend of mine posted a picture on FB over the weekend.....it was of a shawl called Halona.  She is making it with a gorgeous rainbow gradient yarn.....it was yarn she spun herself from a Loop Bullseye of fiber.....
Here is her picture (drool):

Well, that made me get out my spinning and see if I could do it one more time.....I moved some fiber onto the gorgeous Bosworth spindle I bought from Darlene and gave it a whirl....well, my grandson said it best:

Antonio:  "Ga-Ma, is that hard?"
Me: "Yes Handsome, it is very hard!"
Antonio:  "If it is so hard, the don't do it."

Here is my spinning on the spindle (no laughing):

I came to the realization that I am just not ever going to be a spinner....I want to still practice a little here and there with some of the fiber I have...but I will never be able to do my Loop Bullseye fiber justice....So, I contacted a spinning friend, Laurel, and she said she would spin it for me.....she is an awesome spinner and I cannot wait to mail it off to her to spin for me......Thank you Laurel!  I think I will only get about 500 yards from it....so I will have to find the perfect shawl for it.  Here is the my Loop Bullseye in Abracadabra color:

Then, I have a couple of  stash enhancements

First is the most awesome bag from Bags By Awesomegrannie......To try to condense the story, Darlene and her hubby had a contest about how to make some bags with scrap material....and LAST week Darlene came to work with 2 awesome scrap bags....her hubby did not color coordinate, but she did......I told her I thought the bag was awesome and she had lots of great feedback on her instagram photo...but (now, remember, I am not a sewer, so I do not really know what I am talking about), they take forever to make.....but she made me one!  She said it took over 3 hours, so I understand why she is not going to make them for the shop....but I am soooooooooo happy she made me one!  Thank you Darlene!  My Camp Loopy #3 is going in this bag....and I get to start that on Saturday!

I got some more of that color changing cotton from Wolle's Yarn....with a 50 grams of contrast black:

Oh.....and some good news.....it is official!  I officially have more hand knit socks than store bought socks.....mind you, I do not really have a lot of store bought socks, and I am no where near a full sock drawer for #operationsockdrawer....but I was pretty happy!

Okay....someone got a new rubber band gun...Jaime (aka Pam-Pa) got it for Antonio and he loves it!

I have a video of him too!

I leave you with some pics of my handsome man.....I watched him this past week on Tuesday everning, Thursday evening, then Friday evening all the way to Sunday evening.....boy am I pooped...but it was lots of fun!  He stayed cool with a tiny little pool that I got him for my house.....

Stay cool my friends!

National Ice Cream Day!

Did you guys know that yesterday was national Ice Cream Day?  Well it was...and trust me....I ate enough ice cream for all of us!  LOL!

I am going to jump into the knitting....what have you been working on?  I have been working a little here and there on my Rosen Bridge....it is getting pretty long and I am getting pretty tired of it.  I have surpassed my required 600 yards, but I am going to go a little farther and then bind off.  I should make it in plenty of time for Camp Loopy.!

Then, I started 2 new things.....I know, I know...I have sooooooo many things on the needles, but I really wanted to start a Sandbank Shawl, I realized I was never going to finish my 2nd Hypernova, and it is not really the kind of shawl shape I like to wear....so I ripped it out and started Sandbank with the same yarn.....Miss Babs Katahdin in the Biker Chick Colorway!  So I got rid of one project and added one project.....all is still balanced....

Ripped this:

To start this:

I even talked Darlene into joining me.....and she made us new bag sets just for the project (no, I do not have too many bags!)  Thank you Darlene!  You are awesome!  I love the little snails on this bag!

Then, do you remember the "bed socks" I made for Paige and just finished them last week....and how I said I need to make some for Antonio?  Well, I did......but I started and finished yesterday....so the world is still balanced....I still have the same number of projects on the needles.

Now, aren't these cute?  I think once I get a picture of them on his feet, they will look better!  I just love this sock monkey yarn!

The only other thing I worked on this week were some socks for a HiyaHiya KAL that I started back in June....I really need to get on the ball with these....but I do love the Orange color and the patterning.

I worked on the above socks at "Hot Rod Night" on Saturday.  Jaime has a 1972 Scamp that we went out there in.....but first, he had to wash it.....

Then, the speedometer does not work in it....so I set up my iPhone as the speedometer.....I told him he is the only person to have a 1972 vehicle with a digital speedometer....LOL!

The last thing I have is stash enhancements...You already saw my awesome bag set above......but I also needed some more tpins and some extra magnets......so I placed a small order for some from WEBS......

and, Darlene was selling her Bosworth Spindle so I bought it from her....I have not tried it yet, but I think I am really going to like it!

Well, it does not seem like much...but that is really all I have....I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Happy Happy Happy Knitting!

Monday Monday.....

Oh how I wish it was Friday already.  Monday is my least favorite day of the week (unless I have it off of course).  But here we are.....

What have I been up to?  Well, I finished You're Beautiful....Yahoo!!!  I even blocked it!

I got a better picture of my shrug.....

Oh, I also finished Paige's bed socks....Yes, one looks a little bigger than the other, but that is only because I tried one on and not the other....so once she puts them both on, she will be fine.  She does love them!  I still need to make some for Antonio.

Then....I really should have been working on Camp Loopy #2 pattern (Rosen Bridge) but I got this wild hair on Friday to cast on for Ingot.  It is a big loose drapey cowl....and the Yarn that Darlene got for me in Virginia is perfect for it!  It is Neighborhood Fiber Co Yarn...in the Del Ray colorway...it is perfect!

Here it is in process:

Here it is finished....I think I will block it to make it stretch nice and long!

That is it on the knitting front...but I have a few stash enhancements.....First, my friend Danna started dyeing yarn...you should check out her shop Knit Knerd Yarn.  She came over to SNB on Saturday and I bought this skein from her.....no, not my typical colors, but I want to make some green and black socks!

Also, Camp Loopy #3 was announced last week....so I ordered yarn for the Ashworth Scarf...Darlene and I are going to make it in BLACK...yes, BLACK...we are going to be complaining the whole time because black is so hard to see....but we are going to love the finished product (I also made it to London, England in the Loopy Ewe rewards):

Now....Drum Roll Please.......My DyakCraft Northern Light Nickel needles came in.....I cannot wait to use these puppies.  I will probably put my Rosen Bridge on them, and of course start Camp #3 with them once it is time to start camp.

Well, that is all I have.....I watched Cateleya on Saturday....Celeste went to the coast with her other Grandma, so Cateleya had some Oma time.  I love her curls.....she is such a cutie.

Then, Antonio was with his Great Grandma on his dad's side, and he got a fever...so they brought him to my house Saturday afternoon....poor guy seemed miserable at first......

But then, after some medicine, he ate a little, and eventually got back to himself...but he is still sick...he woke up with 101 fever this morning, so my mom is watching him today.

I will be taking him to the doctor tomorrow.

Well, that is all I have........Happy Happy Happy Knitting everyone!
