Still Goaling for the Win!

 Can you believe it is the end of January and this is my 5th post of the year.....as opposed to barely one post per month last year, I would say I am doing better at reaching my goal to post more.

I finished my Jimmy Beans Wool Monthly Blanket, and but them in a ziplock for safe keeping.

I got the shawl yarn...there was an error on the pattern, but I finished it.  This will go much faster than the blanket as it is only 20 grams of yarn per month.

Y'all should know I am an Alpha reader (I read the book as she writes it) for Maggie Cole, a romance author.  I was her very first reader after she posted in a FB group asking if anyone wanted to be an ARC (advanced copy reader...this is once the book is done) reader...I replied with "Sure!  I will!" and it was a great decision for me....since then, I became one of her Alpha readers and I have read all 44 of her books (3 of which have not yet been published).....well, she came to SA and I got to meet her....she is tall!  We had a great time at lunch and she had a great girls weekend here in SA with one of her friends.

The very next day, my great friend, Ruby was in town.....Last time I saw Ruby was in 2014 and we hung out in Austin....this time we did lunch in the Cibilo area......here we are 9 years apart (please dont mind my million chins)!

Last Friday the 27th of January:

Do y'all remember whenI fostered a beautiful Dog named Blue.....well, here is an updated picture of her at her furever home...Her name is now Luna.....I miss her every day

Here is also a picture of what she did to a specific project I was working on months ago....This, I do not miss....LOL!

Welol, that project just sat for months all tangled up because I did not want to deal with it...

But I decided to finally tackle it....on the left are chunks of yarn large enough to still knit with...on the right are the tiny balls I will probably not even mess with and on the bottom right are about 7 pieces so short, they did not even warrant a ball...LOL!

Now I am back on track.....Mickey Mouse's face says it all...LOL!

So....hopefully I can now get back on that project!

Now...to announce my best friend is better than yours.....LOL!  I am not usually one to toot my own horn....but...Look at what Darlene got me for my Birthday (yes it is early).....

It is absolutely gorgeous...I was going to make a shawl with just this one color, but once I saw it, I decided to pair it with this Caramel colorway I have....

I settled on the Untangled shawl by Andrea Mowry (how fitting since I just untangled a bunch of yarn)!

Socks, Socks, Socks!!!!

This week is all about socks, socks and more socks!

I made some socks for my author friend that I Alpha read for....her name is Maggie Cole and she is coming to SA in TWO Days.....I get to finally meet her in person....oh, and she has size Womens 12 feet.....I only had 15 grams left.

I started a new pair for Paige and got yarn for a pair for Kody and Antonio too.

Then I started socks with the new yarn Paige got me.

I got January's Blanket yarn and started the blanet pattern.  I have made all 4 triangles, but still have about 5 rectangles to make.

I joined the Jimmy Beans Wool 2023 Shawl club too and that yarn should be coming later this week.

Lastly......I got some La Bien Aimee Aran yarn to make a shawl with...Caramel color

Still Crushing it!

 Hey everyone....how are you?  I am doing pretty darn good....I kinda feel like I am still crushing my goals.  not only am I blogging again, but I feel pretty accomplished in my knitting/crafting world.

I have finished a few things....and I frogged like 5 this this past weekend.  Either things where they item wont fit any more or my gauge would have been of or I just was not 'feeling' it anymore.....its a good feeling.  I still have WAY too many wips...but baby steps for now!

What I have done.....I finished last years blanket!

I got January's yarn for 2023 blanket

I finished a hat (do you have a pom pom preference?).

I finished some dishcloths

I finished Darlene's Birthday present (see how many things I finished??).

I also podcasted this past weekend with Elizabeth and Melissa.....Melissa bought us each or Christmas present (we had not podcast since late November) and I love this yarn tshirt and sock knitting journal!  The yarn is Must Stash in the Bumbles Bounce Colorway!

Crushing Goals!

 Look at me crushing a goal and blogging again so soon.  I told you I was going to try to blog more often....but that will of course mean less content....I am okay with shorter and more frequent blogs!

Here we go!  

I made my first ornament of 2023...even if it was for a Christmas 2022 present....it was for my trainer, Ped, who I had not seen since mid December.....oh, and I am wearing one of my amazing new pajamas from my parents!

Here are my babies guarding the house....okay, maybe Jackson is more sulking cuz he wants to be outside....LOL!

I am organizing a crank in at Farm To Needle Yarn Shop!  Yahoo!

I am frantically knitting on Darlene's Bday present....shhhh, dont tell her...I dont thing she checks the blog much anymore since I have become so sporadic in posting.  I am using a completly different yarn than what this pattern calls for...the drop is no joke.  I might have to finish early because it is getting pretty big.  We will see.

Well, that is all I have....I plan on hitting some wips soon or frogging....my ravelry page is a bit out of hand....LOL!

It's 2023!

 Hello everyone!  It is 2023 and I hope you had fabulous holidays and a wonderful new year!

I know I have said this a lot lately, but my hope is to blog more...I know I have gotten pretty slack since 2020...here's to hoping I can do better!

I finished Darlene's last Christmas Present....a Boxy Cape

I also can finally show the Advent Stole I test knit that was for Darlene

I also got her a new set of the large Chiaogoo needles in shorties.

She made me a gorgeous quilt and I love it so much....and one cant forget her always spoiling me with the advent tea calendar and mug!  She is the greatest best friend a girl can have!

Paige and Erich got me goodies from Birdie Parker...I have always wanted some of her earrings and now I have earrings, yarn, stitch markers and a matching trinket dish!

I got both her and myself a journal.....I want to try to journal and see if I can justs be better this coming year.  I feel like my life and my mindfullness has been lacking so I want to see if this will help (the pen is from my great friend Jennifer a few years ago).

I finished the Monthly blanket on December 31st, so I met my goal of knitting the skein in the month I got it...but I still need to seam the whole thing...I will get there

In addition to the blanket club for 2023, I also ordered the shawl club....I am looking forward to it.

I made some socks for Erich's friend, Devinne....

And she made me a gorgeous macrame hanging on the mantel (to the right).

Antonio and I spent some time together during his break...one night we made a fire because the furnace broke!

I made more baubles for the neighbors and a hat for my BIL

I got my nails and toes done...something I have not done in a long time (I am also wearing new pjs from my parents...they gave me two sets!).

Lastly...some pics of my family (one is a throw back of Erich, Paige and Grace...must have been 2000)
