Hey everyone! I hope yall are well! I am sorry I am late on my blog, but I have been on vacation for my 53rd birthday! I went to my sister's lakehouse and it was FABULOUS! I have tons of pics to share!
First.....I have the most amazing best friend in the world! She made me TWO gorgeous quilts, got me tea with flavored honey sticks and some pens and gorgeous yarn! Lupe is trying to steal a quilt, but it is not happening! LOL!
Before we left to the lakehouse, I made a new hat for Lupe, and I fixed his Crystal Lattice Beanie....he wanted it a little longer to cover his ears, so I frogged some and added 1/2 a repeat and re-did decreases and then bound off.
I got some one of a kind Madtosh Vintage Yarn.....like a "you don't know what you are gonna get and it is not refundable" kind of thing.....I hit the jackpot with Leopard and Mooreland
I also bought a skein of this color called Foofschia for the Foof character on Yo Gabba Gabba.....and if you have a little girl in your life....this is a perfect pink!
I also ordered some Berroco Vintage in the Ballet Slipper colorway to make Amira an ear flap hat.....it is totally so cute on her! She got to wear it for a few more of the really cold and windy days we had here!
I also made Lupe another water is life hat in black and a regular red hat. He likes the purl side, but I knit this all stockinette and then turned it inside out for him.
I got the yarn in for Grace's sweater....it is so pretty!
I also did a swatch on size 19's (the size the pattern calls for) and I think the stitches are too airy
So I did some calculating of my gauge and the gauge of the pattern and I am doing the next size larger to get the correct results with size 17's (instead of 19's).
Before I go on with my Lakehouse trip....I got a water dispenser that I have wanted for a while (my sister has 2 at the lakehouse and they are great). It has a 5 gallon bottom loading dispenser and dispenses Hot, Cold or Colder water. I love it! The best part.....I got it for $86. It is originally $179.99 and it was on sale for $139.99 and then I had a 40% off one household item which made it $86 after tax, title and license.....Squeee!!
Okay....now, the lakehouse trip.....the septic at the lakehouse was frozen and a guy needed to come do some repair before we could use it. So, a week at the lakehouse without water would have been miserable if it was not for the Moynihan's! My sister's neighbors who let us use their restroom in their home. It was so sweet of them.....so I made them each a hat. The black one is for him and the one with the pom pom is for her (pom pom totally removeable).
So....in the month of January, I finished 6 items. This February, I finished 7 items......6 hats and one blanket....wow!
